Yep.
I had a HUGE ego boost on Friday night. A friend of ours that we've known for a few years came by. Usually I'm in bed (or in my pajamas) or in class when he comes by, so I don't see him. I was getting ready to go work out, and he sees me walk into the kitchen. He said, "Long time no see. Your arms are getting kind of big. Come in here and make a muscle. DAMN!" Heh. It was kind of awesome.
On Saturday, I went to the second class. Damn cats. They wake me up at 6:00-6:30, I feed them, go back to sleep (eventually), and don't wake up until 9:30. Anyway, I used my new gloves, and busted the crap out of my knuckles on both hands. I'd used them on the focus mitts on Monday, and they were uncomfortable, but not this bad. We were on the heavy bags because we didn't have enough people for groups of three. Ouch. So, being the obsessive compulsive (shopper) that I am, I bought these. Sports Author!ty only had L/XL. I wasn't sure if they even came in smaller sizes, as I'd never seen them. The gym had some, too, but they were also L/XL. I ended up getting them at H!bbett, even though they were $5 more. I didn't want to drive to other locations, and I'd have to pay shipping online, anyway. They're vinyl, similar to the ones I have, but have better wrist straps and padding. Should be ok. I don't really bust my knuckles with the old ones unless I wear the shorter, non-stretchy hand wraps. I feel kind of cheesy buying this brand, but they seem to be pretty good. I'm certainly not jumping on any bandwagon, as the dude at SA seemed to think. Maybe I'm just paranoid.
Damn. On Sunday night, I went to bed too late, then stayed up too long reading The Handmaid's Tale. Hey, it's a good book. Kind of appropriate in this political climate. I also moved Children of Men up to the top of my N3tflix list. I was telling Stacey about the book, and she said it sounded like the movie. Oh yeah, that's on my list. I will probably be scared and pissed off while watching it.
I must have issues. I'm paranoid about what an employee at Sports Author!ty says, a comment from my boss, an invite to a cabin with a group of people. Oh, I'm out of holy basil. Maybe that's it.
Ha. My stepmother's answer to the same question I sent to her with my passive aggressive answer:
20. Currently hate right now?
TOO MANY EMAILS IE: 20 OR SO FROM THE SAME PERSON DAILY!!!!!
Oh yeah. Superbad = 2 hours of my life I'll never get back.
So tired. I haven't been getting enough sleep, then we took Filo to the emergency ER. Yesterday morning, Jeff said he didn't want to get out of his bed, didn't eat, didn't go into the bathroom with him as usual. At lunch, same. Didn't get out of his bed or eat, or go outside. Last night was worse. He started to heave, and tried to stand up, but couldn't. His front legs just slid out from under him. We couldn't tell if he'd hurt his legs somehow, or what. He also peed on himself and the bed. He was having what I thought were neurological symptoms - not being able to hold himself or his head up, swaying, no balance, twitching. The doctor thought the same. They did x-rays and blood work. He has pancreatitis...or something. His bowels were full and impacted. His bladder was also full. His liver levels (or one of them) was elevated. They gave him an enema, and we took him outside. No luck. They gave him more, still no luck. They sent us home with his x-rays, an antibiotic, a stool softener, and subQ fluids in him. 2+ hours = $688.
They told us to take him to our vet this morning, but he seems to be doing much better, walking ok, not any swaying or leaning that I've seen. He's going to take him probably Saturday, though. He thinks he dropped a load last night. We know he peed some at the ER, too. He said that "people food" can cause this, or treats, rawhide, cat food, feces, etc. Yes, he gets bites of food on occasion, but he was recently given "Beggin Strips" that we got as a sample in his dog food. He'd never had them, and the vet said that those could cause it, too.

Poor Filo! I hope he continues to improve.
And Superbad is awesome. Not as awesome as two tickets to your gun show, but awesome still.
